One of these days I’ll write something so beautiful, everyone who reads it and I myself with them shall be healed.

All the flag waving, anthem singing, and Canada first stuff is fine but if this groundswell of national pride and identity isn’t explicitly pluralistic, multiracial and democratic then it’s not as different from the ethnonationalist version to the south as we might like to think!
Techno-Futurism Is An Evangelical Religion (but it has an awesome soundtrack).

Valentine’s Day is coming up.
Some guys get flowers for the women they admire. Or dinner and a movie. Or they sing to her at karaoke.
I once wrote a whole novel for a woman who I loved.
(Which was actually very foolish of me.)
But I’ll do it again.

In the last few weeks I’ve come to wonder: how much of the #philosophy work I’ve done really was a search for reality and truth, and how much of it was a search for someone or some community who might say “Yeah, you’re right, I feel it too, I agree.”
This year's new edition of my Outline History Of Western Thought is now up on my website. Here’s the URL:

There is an energy field created by all living things. It isn’t something we invented. It’s observable. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It connects us to the living, and to the dead. It is what gives us our power. It is the one thing we’re capable of perceiving that transcends space and time. It binds galaxies together. Even if we can’t understand it. We should trust it.
That thing is
The Force
of LOVE
Happy New Year 2025
