Here’s my payslip as a first year doctor in 2005, next to a first year doctor colleague’s in 2023. 18 years later, their take home salary is less than mine was. I lived for free in hospital accommodation and had a fraction of their student loan.

What a welcome home from my two longest supporters! Wouldn’t be here without them 💜 #acutemedicine @RUHBath

For any anaesthetic friends who might be interested! Free for the day. Well done @dramrogers @VirtueOfNothing @doctimcook
Some further analysis from the oesophageal intubation outcome in our Cochrane VL vs DL systematic review. VL reduces the incidence of oesophageal intubation, with stronger evidence for HA devices.

Latest craziness in the world of #medsinpreganancy ... An update to SmPC on chlordiazepoxide, a useful (if not essential) drug for treating alcohol withdrawal suggests that it shouldn't used in pregnancy due to concerns that it may be mutagenic. Wrong for many reasons:
Leading in uncertainty @oscarlyonsnz communication, alertness and relationships can slip during times of stress. Inspirational talk covering prioritisation, task writing, teams sharing experiences to name a few @RUHBath
