@FelicityCarter pokes a hornet nest in her latest newsletter on the role of AI in Wine Writing.
How much AI is too much AI when it comes to wine writing?
And will we apply the same framework when it comes winemaking competitions, too?

Do GLP-1 drugs work by inhibiting appetite or by prioritizing fat oxidation over storage--changing metabolic fuel partitioning, in the lingo?
Most researchers (and X influencers) will insist it's the former, but they'll do so because they don't think deeply about the alternative.
Maybe the new paper by Friedman & Lund will help. 🤞

Wine journalist Felicity Carter is trying to conduct a survey of how GLP-1 use affects alcohol consumption.

The paper this blog post is based on references a 2006 paper on wastewater treatment from Australia, commissioned by the wine industry. As a result of that paper, Australia has become a world leader in winery wastewater management. Talk about cherry picking!
Public health researchers are well-placed to investigate alcohol's impact on sustainability, write Dr Megan Cook & Prof Sarah MacLean.
In our latest blog, they argue that alcohol interventions can reduce health harms while improving planetary health.
