The Omaha Police Department has arrested Edwin Renderos Coreas, 38, following an incident on Sunday, October 11th 2026 where an 18yo female was abducted and sexually assaulted. OPD learned that Renderos Coreas was previously arrested in May 2025 on felony domestic abuse charges in California, and a federal detainer was placed on him at that time. The detainer was not honored and Renderos Coreas was able to leave California after pleading down his charges and came to Omaha. “The Omaha Police Department aggressively investigated this serious crime, and I want to thank the responding officers, investigators, our federal partners, and most importantly, the courageous victim. Our priority is conducting thorough investigations, holding offenders accountable, and protecting our community,” said Chief Todd Schmaderer.

Behind one on my commute this morning and I found myself thinking about my kids car search. The thought popped into my head “hey, that looks pretty decent…” and followed by “they’re junk. I know they’re junk.
