Meet Luca. 💙🫏 Only a few days ago, this little boy arrived without his mother, frightened and crying for her again and again. Today, I sat down beside him — and within seconds, the whole little nursery gang came running. They crowded around me for cuddles, pushing, nudging and demanding attention like the confident little troublemakers they have become. ❤️ Luca stayed a little quieter. He watched them. He stayed close, but he still isn’t quite as comfortable as the others yet. And that’s okay. Because I know the day will come when Luca will be the one pushing his way to the front, pulling at my clothes, demanding cuddles and joining every bit of mischief with his new friends. He lost his mother far too soon — but he has found a little family here. Welcome to your Second Chance, Luca. 💙 Your happy, naughty days are coming. tawf.org.uk/donate

Two lives are tied to one decision — and we cannot make the wrong one. This is the donkey who collapsed while pulling a heavily loaded cart. Today, he is safe with us. He is standing again. He is trying to walk again. But his hind legs are still weak and unstable, and one thing is absolutely clear: This donkey is NOT fit to return to work. We cannot send him back to a cart. We cannot put weight behind him again. We cannot wait for him to collapse a second time. But there is another side to this story. His owner came to our shelter today. He himself has a significant mobility impairment and walks with the help of a crutch. And this donkey was his means of earning a living. Since the rescue, he has been calling us repeatedly. He has come to the shelter because he needs his livelihood back. We understand that. But the answer cannot be to send this donkey back to work. So now we have only one humane solution: We must retire this donkey permanently and provide his owner with a specially adapted motorised cart so he can continue earning without ever depending on a working donkey again. This is exactly why TAWF created our Second Chance for Working Equines programme. It is not enough to rescue an exhausted animal for one night and then return him to the same cycle. We have to break that cycle. The donkey must stay safe. The owner must still have a way to earn. And another donkey must never be brought in to replace him. We need your help once again. This case has already touched thousands of people. You helped his story reach the world when he collapsed. Now we need you to help us finish his story properly. Please help us give this donkey the retirement he desperately needs — and give his owner a humane alternative livelihood. We cannot send him back to work. We will not send him back to work. Now we need your help to make sure he never has to work again. Please DONATE if you can. And please SHARE this post. One share can put this story in front of the person who can change both of their lives. ❤️ 🌐 Donate online: tawf.org.uk/donate

Winter is racing towards us. Our donations are not. 💔 At TAWF, when something needs building or fixing, we rarely pick up the phone to hire someone. We buy the materials—and our own team gets to work. The same hands that clean our shelter and care for our animals have helped install CCTV, tackle electrical and plumbing work, repair pumps, dig drainage, plant trees and build our rainwater-harvesting system. Now those same hands are building our winter heating system. Why? Because a commercial system for our large halls could cost us £4,000–£5,000. We simply cannot afford that. Our team members are more than employees. They are animal lovers and part of the TAWF family. They learn, build and work from the heart because every pound we save is another pound that can care for an animal. The heating system is still being built and tested. Before it operates around our animals, we will thoroughly test combustion and exhaust, carbon-monoxide and smoke safety, temperatures, hot surfaces, electrical components and fire safety. We will not compromise their safety to save money. But there is one thing our hands cannot manufacture: the funds to buy the materials. Right now, the work can only move as quickly as donations arrive. Winter is coming fast. Donations are coming slowly. Please help us get these heating systems built, tested and running before the freezing nights arrive. And if you cannot donate, please SHARE—your share can put this appeal in front of the person who can. ❤️ Winter Appeal: tawf.org.uk/winter-appeal-20… Donate: tawf.org.uk/donate
