I want to sincerely apologize to everyone who was offended by my recent responses on FMC’s account. I don’t have a good explanation other than that my emotions got the better of me. They shouldn’t have, and I’m sorry. A little over a year ago, I was just a geek who decided to bring Comic Cons back to Poland. It was a crazy idea, but I thought I had found my people, so we went for it. Looking back, none of us were ready for how big Fantasy & Magic Con would become, both in terms of attendance and media attention. That’s probably the main reason behind many of our mistakes and the lower quality in some areas of the event. We made history with this con, but I never really allowed myself to feel proud of it because of everything that happened afterwards. Since July 12th, I’ve basically been handling FMC on my own. Most people don’t even know who the other organizers were, because I was the only one sharing my full name in public during the campaign and full process, some were using nicknames, others are still fully anonymous. For the last 2 weeks, I’ve been running the social media, talking to partners, dealing with guests, finances, and all the post-event paperwork which is too much for one person. I found some amazing people outside the crew helping me with accounting and legal matters or community members helping with other stuff like photo ops, but it still left me overwhelmed, running on almost no sleep for over two weeks. Mixed with emotions and painkillers, it was only a matter of time before I reached my breaking point. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened. That’s not an excuse for the way I responded, but it’s the reality of where my head was. On top of that, I kept seeing false information about me and about FMC spreading online, including things related to the DC Douglas situation or messages ripped out of context. Then I started hearing that other people were beginning to get dragged into it because of my statement, including people I care about. I reacted emotionally, and I shouldn’t have. If you disagree with the decision to invite DC Douglas, that’s completely your right. If you want to criticize someone for that decision, criticize me as a promoter. But please don’t direct that anger at other actors related to FMC 2026 or 2027, community members, or people who have nothing to do with it. They don’t deserve to become part of this. I also learned a lot from FMC 2026, not only about organizing an event of this scale, but also about my own limits. Because of that, I’ll be stepping away from leading the brand in the future. My role will become much smaller and better suited to what I can realistically handle. I know an apology won’t change everyone’s opinion, and I don’t expect it to. I just wanted to take responsibility for my words and say that I’ll do better. If you understand - thank you. If you don’t - it’s also ok, you have a full right to it.
