Central banks are "quietly" stacking gold, per Fortune. Goldman Sachs estimates they bought 79 tonnes in August, more than four times the pre-2022 average of 17 a month.
$GS calls that buying a "structural support" for gold. The Dutch central bank moved 86 tonnes from New York and Ottawa to London.
The support holds only while buying stays well above 17 tonnes.

$META is doing almost the same thing $GOOGL did in 2014. Google gave shareholders a non voting Class C share for each share they owned so Page and Brin could keep control while Google kept issuing stock.
The Class C shares traded lower than the voting ones and Google ended up paying $522 million to make up for it.
The big difference is Meta wants to use these shares to help raise the hundreds of billions they say they need for AI. Google mostly used theirs to pay employees and buy companies.
And it is also for Zuckerberg. If California passes its billionaire tax next month he can sell some of his new shares to pay it without giving up votes.
$META is creating a new kind of share with no voting rights. Every shareholder will get one for each share they own. It’s a stock dividend but it works like a 2 for 1 stock split.
Zuckerberg holds most of the voting power. Since the new shares don’t come with votes Meta can sell them to pay for AI and he keeps control.
Zuckerberg will get the new shares as well. He can sell 20% of them without losing voting power. With the other 80% he gives up some voting power for every one he sells.
That rule goes away over 8 years if he stays full time on Meta’s executive team or as executive chair.
China’s CSI 300 has fallen about 20% from its June high and entered bear market territory.
The drop comes as AI trades unwind and hopes for major stimulus fade.
A 10-week losing streak and weak earnings have added pressure.
Whether the slide continues depends on clearer policy support or better results.
Another reason I'm still bullish on $SPCX
NFA.
Grok Bot's daily users hit a new peak on October 17, roughly tripling since late September, per Similarweb's estimates.
That's just usage though, not revenue yet. But each new user costs little to add to software that's already running.
If that curve flattens and paid users never show up, I'd rethink it.

Yeah, we definitely like the open kitchen, with master bathroom with a bi- Level. Overall open floor plan
Citi raised its price target on $META to $895 from $800 and kept a Buy rating.
The lift comes as confidence grows in returns from the company’s AI investments.
Meta has seen volatility amid broader tech pressure and high spending plans.
Whether the target proves durable will depend on continued execution.
Berkshire Hathaway is investing another $330 million in Bending Spoons, lifting its stake to 4%. $BSP
The Italian serial acquirer will issue 10 million shares at $33 each in a private placement, following Berkshire’s $600 million IPO investment in July.
Shares of Bending Spoons jumped sharply on the news as the company plans to use the capital for further acquisitions.
The move adds another technology position to Berkshire’s portfolio under Greg Abel.
$NVDA 's Jensen Huang says Nvidia will announce $2B in European SI investments this coming week.
He puts the past year's total at $8B, mostly startup stakes like Mistral and Nscale.
Many of those startups build on Nvidia chips, so part of the money returns as demand.
If European SI demand stalls, Nvidia holds stakes in its own stalled buyers.

$MSCI has grown its dividend at a ~14.5% CAGR over the past 5 years, and analysts still see solid double-digit forward growth from here.
Forward yield: ~1.5%
FCF payout ratio: ~37%
Earnings payout: ~43%
Most of their revenue comes from licensing indexes which are used in ETFs, benchmarks, and other financial products, plus analytics.
So, consistent recurring subscriptions and asset-based fees are where their money comes from, which I personally love.
But here’s the catch, the stock has gone essentially nowhere for 5 years while the dividend has kept climbing.
Would you invest in MSCI, or would you rather just buy the 10-year Treasury yielding around 5.19%?

Nobel Prize Theory: Financial News Spreads Like A Virus
Robert Shiller won the Nobel Prize and later wrote that money stories spread the way epidemics do, and change what people do before the real numbers move. I watched it happen in my own head, over one mortgage number I hadn't even checked yet.
$ASML reported Q3 sales of €11.7 billion and EPS of €12.95, both above estimates.
Gross margin reached 57.5%. Q4 and full-year guidance also came in higher than expected.
The company bought back about €4.1 billion in shares and declared a €1.88 interim dividend.
AI-related customer demand remains solid and continues to support the outlook.
The IEA says the global diesel shortage will last until the second half of 2027.
In September, the world exported 700,000 fewer barrels of diesel a day than a year earlier.
US diesel at the pump hit $6 a gallon. Refiners elsewhere profit. Truckers pay.
The risk is the Gulf. If supply slips again, emergency stockpiles are the last cushion.
$MSFT plans multi-gigawatt deployments of its custom Maia SI chips starting next year.
The next-generation Maia 300 targets higher efficiency for inference than leading GPU systems.
This moves more of Microsoft’s SI services onto its own silicon.
It supports tighter control over power use and costs as capacity expands.

This morning’s SpaceX $SPCX launch put on an unreal show. 🚀
The sky looked like something out of a movie here on the Space Coast.
Moments like this never get old.
Innovation, power, and a reminder that we’re living in an incredible time to watch history happen in real life.
Did anyone else catch it this morning?
