Really glad I wasn’t discouraging by a mixed signal
not to be a dick, but it’s almost always obvious when a person is only half heartedly entering a relationship. But obsession makes the other person blind and deaf.
I realized something 2 years ago that has really simplified my life: a mixed signal is a no. If someone isn’t sure about you, it doesn’t matter why. It doesn’t matter how great you think you’d be together or how close you feel to some perfect future. Just let it go. If someone wants you they will make it abundantly clear.
Ofc it’ll be a mixed signal, there are TONS of reasons someone may still signal that they want you:
1) they may also WANT to like you bc they also agree it would be great! But it doesn’t feel right to them for reasons they may not even understand at the time. Eventually they talk themselves into it, or you talk them into it, just like the guy in the comic, but the lack of feeling never resolves itself. is long and drawn out and ends poorly.
2) they may just be stringing you along for the validation
3) some other third thing
This isn’t just about love btw. It’s also about job opportunities, friendships, whatever. Obsessing over how you got SO close to what you wanted will not help you. Let it go, work on yourself as much as you can, and wait for the enthusiastic, simple yes
Also don’t ever talk yourself into wanting something. It should be an enthusiastic, simple yes from you too.
