If you want your wife to lose weight, it's a two step process.
This is the advice I give to guys who are in that situation 👇

"How should a husband respond when he initiates sex, and his wife says no?" 👇

The enemy has convinced Christians to be embarrassed about sex...
But Christians should have the best sex lives. Here's why 👇

A popular objection to the New Testament verses commanding wives to submit to husbands is this:
“Paul's commands to wives were for a time, a people, and a place!”
------------------
Technically, this phrase is correct. The whole Bible was for a time, a people, and a place. And that includes us.
People who say this make the error of going against what the church has believed and taught for 2000 years, and what is plainly written in the Bible, because it doesn't fit the modern sensibilities.
They say, “Well, I think those commands to wives were cultural.”
But in true double standard fashion, they would say that the New Testament commands for husbands were NOT cultural for the moment, and STILL apply.
So yes, “Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord” still applies.
Nothing has changed the Word of God.
The arguments against these verses are just new variations of what Satan said in the garden.
He came and asked Eve, “Did God really say?”
And that's what people are still asking about all kinds of things that they don't like in Scripture.
“Did God really say?”
Yes, He did. Over and over in the New Testament.
But people will still make all kinds of arguments to try and tear it down.
One of the arguments includes a true fact about Ephesus, and how there was temple prostitution worship going on at that time.
People will argue that Paul only instructed Ephesian wives to submit to their husbands because of the rampant issues going on at the time.
But then why did Paul also write it to the Corinthians?
Why did he write it to the Colossians?
Why did Peter write about it?
The arguments fall apart very quickly.
These commands aren't just anchored in cultural moments.
They’re anchored in God's design that goes all the way back to the garden.
Letting the word of God speak for itself will always reveal that.

Have you done a rite of passage with your son yet?
----------------------
Boys have to become men, they don’t obtain manhood automatically.
Girls automatically become women, but boys want to achieve, they want to conquer, they want to accomplish.
They want to know that they're increasing in rank.
And if you don't build that for your son, he'll go find it somewhere else.
Like in a video game, where at least he can move up in rank and improve his character.
But when you have rites of passage for a son, it’s a huge gift you give to him, and a huge source of confidence, because he knows he earned it.
He can say, “My manhood did not come cheap. I earned it. I'm supposed to be here, and I have what it takes.”
There's a great confidence that comes along with that because there's competency.
You made the rites of passage actually meaningful. They weren’t participation trophies.
He actually had new responsibilities, freedoms, and burdens.
And he was actively crucifying childishness, and becoming more manly.
So rites of passage are super important to have with a son.
However, it can be difficult to know where to start if you never experienced that as a boy.
-----------
That's why we're running a bonus this week: The rites of passage training call.
-----------
This call will be just be me and the dads, and I'm going to help you build an exact custom blueprint for your son's rite of passage.
We have a template that we've introduced to our clients, and last week we introduced it on the podcast episode.
But on the rites of passage training call, we're going to get very practical, and I'm going to help you build the best plan, based on your sons and their ages.
Every household is different. Every son is different.
That's why you need custom coaching.
And after this call, every man is going to leave with an exact blueprint for what to do with his boys.
Something that he feels good about, something that he knows how to go execute on.
Something that he feels like he can go do with each of his sons to help them make progress, and legitimately move them forward into manhood with deliberate effort, instead of just letting things happen.
We're going from passive to active. It's gonna be awesome.
And the Rites of Passage Training call is available to all the guys who book an assessment call before September 16 at 5:00 PM Eastern, and who come into The Family Captain Elite coaching program.
So don't miss out!

It's like Boy Scouts. You know where you stand in rank.
It doesn't even have to be in comparison to anyone else, but in comparison to the standard.
A boy has that in him.
He wants to achieve.
He wants to conquer.
He wants to accomplish.
And if you don't build that for him, he'll go find it somewhere else.
Like in a video game, where at least he can move up in rank and improve his character.

AKA caring for others.
Serving through protection, provision, and leadership.
The masculine soul thrives on all that.

"What’s the lie you’re most tired of hearing about marriage and what would you replace it with?”
-----------------
I hate the 50/50 angle. The belief that a husband and wife can operate in equal authority in a marriage.
It's a lie and it's never true. Even if it was applied functionally, it would be wrong.
But what I hate about it even more is that it's never actually applied functionally.
People say, “our marriage is fifty-fifty.”
But functionally a wife always has the authority.
I’m not so arrogant as to think I'm the only man who reads his Bible and knows how to interpret it, but then I look around and I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.
There’s all kinds of bad marriage advice out there I could hate on, but my frustrations are with the Church and where it has failed to correct the equal authority lie.
So what would I replace the 50/50 lie with?
I’d replace it with the truth.
The message that men and women are equal in value and worth, yet completely different in authority and responsibilities.
I would point people to biblical gender roles, and tell them they don't want the fruit that comes from a lie.
The fruit that comes from the equal authority lie is the friend zone, and a boring marriage.
Women aren't happy.
Men aren't happy.
And it's sad because they keep trying to fix it with other stuff.
I suspect that people who love their spouse, and would say they’re happily married (but aren’t ecstatically married) still have the ache for more.
Let’s say a couple has a C+ marriage. It’s a passing grade, so it's not failing.
However, the wife doesn't really have a man she admires and looks up to and is leading in a mighty mission.
The husband doesn't really have a feminine helper who is crowning him.
I know he wants that because I know he's a man. I know she wants that because I know she's a woman.
And I know neither of them have it.
So that results in Instagram scrolling.
It results in Netflix.
It's going to feed all kinds of escapisms because they're not getting the full satisfaction and delight that marriage was supposed to be.
People think that Song of Solomon is just for the honeymoon phase.
That delight, that joy, and not just the sexual part.
I just mean the love, and the “I can't get enough of this person.”
But people think having that at 20 years of marriage is impossible.
I’m here to tell you, it’s not.

One thing I heavily emphasize with my clients is the importance of margin in a family culture.
(And how it affects everything else, including the marriage bed) 👇
John Michael Clark ⚓ retweeted
The PURPOSE of men is to protect, provide, and lead.
The PURPOSE of women is to help, glorify/beautify, and give life.
Knowing this, we can determine what jobs and roles in life that they each SHOULD fill.
Notice the point here is God's purpose and God's design- it's NOT about capability...
As in "I KNOW A LADY WHO CAN DEADLIFT 600LBS AND SHE CAN FIGHT LIKE A FEMINIST IN A MOVIE AND SHE IS BRAVER THAN ANY MAN I KNOW!"
That's an argument for capability, not design and purpose.
Even IF a woman possesses those rare capabilities, she should still not be her husband's protector.
If that woman's husband sends her downstairs when someone kicks in the front door at 2am, he is in sin and it is a shame to him.
This is basic stuff that the whole world knew until about 5 minutes ago.
The fact that people are scandalized by this is evidence of how far we have fallen.
God's ways are better for everyone.
Raise your sons AS SONS.
Raise your daughters AS DAUGHTERS.
Treat you wife like A WOMAN.
And act like a MAN.
John Michael Clark ⚓ retweeted
No woman has ever been sexually aroused by her husband doing chores.
If she had sex with him after he did "chores," it was because she was the keeper of the sex and she wanted to reward her good boy with a treat and keep him well trained.
This process is emasculating and kills true attraction in a marriage.
John Michael Clark ⚓ retweeted
If you keep your marriage sensual all the time, instead of just when you want to have sex, you'll enjoy more sex with your wife.

So many men say, "My life changed the day I became a father."
I think that's the first time they actually stepped into headship.
But it should've happened on the wedding day.
The day you became a husband, not when you became a dad.
The baby forced you into leadership. But your wife needed you to choose it first.
