Pakistan Navy to hold an official decommissioning ceremony for the final ship of the Type 21 Class Frigate, PNS TARIQ (D-181), ex-HMS AMBUSCADE, in Karachi. The ship will return to the United Kingdom where it will be turned into a shipbuilding museum on the River Clyde. Pakistan's Foreign Minister, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, will be the chief guest for the ceremony accompanied by the Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral M Amjad Khan Niazi, and other senior Naval and Govt Officials. PNS TARIQ was commissioned into the Pakistan Navy Fleet on 28th July 1993 at Davenport, Plymouth (UK) with @MAnwar1319 as the first Commanding Officer (CO). PNS TARIQ, being the pioneer of six Type-21's, had been fully modernized in Pakistan with state of the art weapons and sensors, and was well poised to meet her commitments. The ship's 30 long years of service will come to an end tomorrow.
