For the Konecny family, being a Falcon is a family tradition. 🧡 By 2024, all five of Charles and Martha’s children and 14 college-aged grandchildren had chosen BGSU. 19 Falcons in a row! This Falcon Family Weekend, we’re celebrating generations of orange and brown.

Donald Drumm created the Jerome Library mural as BGSU's first artist-in-residence. 60 years later, thanks to the generosity of donors, a full restoration ensures his work remains at the heart of our campus for generations to come.🧡

The University's national feature in @Bloomberg news comes on the heels of Bowling Green State University President Rogers' rallying vision for our learning community in his 2026 State of Our University: "This Moment. Our Moment."
In his words:
"This is absolutely our moment… and this work… well it is mighty. In the words of the Forward Falcons song…
'Hold up the fame of our mighty name'… each of us are the 'mighty' We are individuals who believe working together creates a brighter future for not just ourselves but for others……our students, the research that we conduct, the creative works that are presented, the way in which we do our work that has a ripple impact throughout Ohio and the Midwest.
Thank you for the work you do, every day, to make that possible. Let us be determined to look into our future and be a role model for our nation of what a public university for the public good can achieve. This moment, our moment..." @Pres_Rogers

Bowling Green State University mourns the passing of one of our most recognized and celebrated alumni, Academy Award and Emmy Award winner and legendary actress, Eva Marie Saint ‘46, ‘82 (Hon.). As a student, Eva Marie demonstrated what was possible at a university like Bowling Green, exploring career paths and discovering a talent for acting while at BGSU.
With a legendary career that spanned an incredible seven decades, Eva Marie created a lasting legacy in the entertainment industry. Even with international acclaim, she remained kind, humble and grounded, never forgetting the people, places and priorities that shaped who she was and what she valued most.
We are grateful for Eva Marie’s wisdom and unwavering support of Bowling Green State University throughout her distinguished career. She remained engaged with her alma mater for decades, and it was the University’s great honor to award Eva Marie with an honorary doctorate of performing arts in 1982, and later, a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018. Today, and in all the years to follow, our students, faculty, staff, alumni and the community will visit the Eva Marie Saint Theatre in the Wolfe Centre for the Arts, named in honor of Eva Marie, a distinguished alumna.
On a personal note, Sandy and I deeply enjoyed Eva Marie’s humor, humility and elegance, and will forever cherish our time with her. We send our deepest sympathies to Eva Marie’s family, especially her children, and her many loved ones. Hollywood, and Bowling Green, Ohio, are dimmer tonight.
80 years ago today, a handful of BGSU students were summoned to President Prout's office at 12:45 a.m. to create @SICSICBGSU. Now the oldest active group on campus, SICSIC has brought school spirit to generations of Falcons. We're grateful to all who have worn the mask. 🧡
Alumni showed up from far and wide for the @BGSUHKY home opener 🧡🏒
"Being a member of the @BGSUFMB10 has provided me with community and belonging. To be able to march in the Rose Parade is something that I would've never even dreamt of." -McKenna Warner

Some things just feel like home. 🧡 Another #BGSUHomecoming in the books with Falcons from across generations back in BG.
