Pakistan is as functional a democracy now as it was a decade ago. These are not the first stolen elections in its history and luckily my history classes did not start in 2024. That’s the elephant in the room EVERYONE needs to address and come in terms with.

Pakistan is not a democratic country because they stole the elections and destroyed the constitution and the judiciary. That is the original sin. Activists in Pakistan who think they can safely talk about local issues without addressing that elephant in the room are mistaken.
