#Statement | The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia condemns and denounces in strongest terms the blatant Iranian aggression and the flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, and Jordan. The Kingdom affirms its full solidarity with and unwavering support for the brotherly countries, and its readiness to place all its capabilities at their disposal in support of any measures they may undertake. It also warns of the grave consequences resulting from the continued violation of states’ sovereignty and the principles of international law.

All Muslims
xitter.cf/uluser/status/20270650…

Excellent thread by @Rajmalhotrachd summarises many of the key arguments in my new book on Sree Narayana Guru, #TheSageWhoReimaginedHinduism (@AlephBookCo). The only element missing here is the Guru’s emphasis on enterprise (not only education) for self-empowerment and the advancement of society. He directly encouraged and promoted agriculture, handicrafts, small-scale industry and business as key to progress. His great triad: castelessness, education and enterprise.

🔥🧠 WHY SREE NARAYANA GURU STILL MATTERS FOR UPSC PRELIMS (GS-I)
(Religion, Society, Social Reform, Caste, National Movement, Regional Renaissance)
When Shashi Tharoor @ShashiTharoor says that Sree Narayana Guru’s relevance endures even after a hundred years, he is not making a cultural remark — he is re-opening one of the most exam-relevant fault lines of Indian society:
👉 How social reform actually succeeded on the ground in colonial India.
This is truly important for UPSC Civil Services Prelims GS-I.
Thanks @ShashiTharoor for helping young civil services aspirants identify important topics

#WATCH | Jaipur, Rajasthan: On Umar Khalid, former Chief Justice of India, DY Chandrachud says, "They've been inside for five years. I'm not criticising my court...you can impose conditions to ensure that the conditions for bail are not abused, but you must necessarily take into consideration that they have the right to an expeditious trial. And if an expeditious trial is not possible under present conditions, then bail should be the rule and not the exception."
"... During my period of 24 months, we disposed of about 21,000 bail applications. There are cases which people don't think about when they criticise the Supreme Court for not granting bail in a particular case. Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera was about to be arrested. He was boarding a flight, I believe, at Guwahati, and he was about to be arrested. The paramilitary forces had surrounded his aircraft. His lawyer came and mentioned before us, soon after we assembled after lunch, that he's about to be arrested for having said something. The lawyer said that this is unforgivable. It's uncivil. It's not a case for arrest. And we protected him against arrest. That was a leader of the opposition who had said something which was uncivil. But everything uncivil is not something which is an offence under our law. And we protected them against this."
"Example number two- Teesta Setalvad was denied bail by the Gujarat High Court. But they gave her time until 12 midnight on a particular day to surrender... The matter came up to me as Chief Justice of India when I was attending a music recital... I said, this is a case where she's entitled to be heard whether she gets bail or not is for that court to decide. We constituted a bench at 9 o'clock at night and she was granted bail..."

TNIE Web-only Column | Islamic scholars leave no room for ambiguity when condemning terrorism. Brutality in the name of religion is categorically rejected through fatwas and public statements. Yet for millions of Muslim women, this principled denunciation of violence stops at the front door.
Domestic violence rarely attracts the same moral urgency. In fact, many clerics continue to legitimise wife-beating as an Islamic right vested in husbands to "discipline" their wives. The paradox is stark: public violence that embarrasses the community is condemned, while private violence inflicted on women is rationalised—often by invoking medieval interpretations of Islamic texts.

Nowadays several muslims are applauding Mufti Samail Nadawi & calling him "rational."
Really? Banning music heals minds? Wow!
Calling this "rationality" is the biggest joke in itself. No background music needed.

Every one who knows me even in the most cursory manner knows how much I am against the traditional concept of Parda but it doesn’t mean that by any stretch of imagination I can accept what Mr Nitish Kumar has done to a Muslim lady doctor . I condemn it in very strong words . Mr Nitish Kumar owes an unconditional apology to the lady .

VIDEO | On Jamiat Ulama-I-Hind (JUH) president Maulana Mahmood Madani's statement, Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan says, "As long as oppression exists, jihad will exist. It is very difficult for me to disagree with that. Oppression or injustice—according to the Quranic idea—does not mean only the oppression you face. If any weak or poor person is being oppressed, it becomes your responsibility to raise your voice for them and help them. If there is oppression, then it is necessary to speak out against it, and that is what is called jihad... Madani's public statement about 'jihad' contradicts what is in texts followed in an institution he's associated with."
