If you needed another reason to move to Florida, just know that my kids school district sent this letter out to every parent and student in the county last night, welcoming them back to school with a letter from President Trump.
I've never seen anything like it, but I love it.
I’m sitting here with a mail in ballot to vote in Florida … so far, I’ve filled in two local candidates … have not filled in the candidate for governor and I’m not voting for Ashley Moody for senator. Afraid to vote for judges with no party affiliation. That’s a crapshoot. I don’t like my options.

I am writing to ask why the officer involved in this incident remains employed by your agency.
Her conduct constitutes a clear violation of her oath of office and demonstrates a level of incompetence incompatible with the responsibilities of law enforcement. The fact that she is still employed suggests your agency’s well-established pattern of investigating allegations against its own officers and predictably finding no wrongdoing. That pattern is no longer credible.
I respect competent, professional law enforcement. This is not it. The officer should be terminated and her TCOLE license revoked. Given your agency’s track record, however, I expect she will instead be promoted to Lieutenant by the end of summer.
Raise your standards! Anyone who doesn't meet them needs to be working somewhere else. Your agency is a master at building a trust deficit with the public it swore to serve.
