The Service lost one of its own yesterday. It is with deep regret we announce that our colleague, friend, and Watch Manager, Jon Partridge, sadly passed away yesterday after a medical emergency.
We are devastated and shocked at the tragic loss, and Jon will be greatly missed.
A busy day across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
Thankfully no lives lost, but sadly many affected by flooding and the aftermath
🚒🚑🚓 are all still dealing with incident’s as flood waters enter rivers.
Stay safe, don’t enter or drive in flood water!

🌧️ Some roads may still be affected by flooding. If flood water blocks your route, do not drive through it - it is often deeper than you think. Don't go around road closure signs, find an alternate route. If you get stuck and it’s an emergency, call 999 🚒 orlo.uk/sHVQJ

Today at 10:00 @LeicsFireRescue switched over to our new @MotoSolutions and @3tcSoftware 999 call handling and mobilising system.
At 10:07 we received our first emergency call and mobilised to the incident without issue. A great project, well delivered 🚒👏👍🚒

It is with deep regret that we announce our colleague, Ian Batchelor, has sadly passed away this weekend.
The whole Service is devastated and shocked at the tragic loss of our friend and colleague.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

When you ring 999 and ask for the Fire Service you will get thought to our Control Room operators
This highly skilled and dedicated team will help you, get details and mobilise fire engines to you quickly. They are the very tip of the sharp end in an emergency @LFRSFireControl
A very varied afternoon/evening at @LFRSWestern firstly, a small event “reopening the station” with @susieshimmie following the major refurbishment of the station and then a great evening getting back to my roots with the awesome @LFRSfirecadets
Great effort from all across @LeicsFireRescue in the face of storm Babet - once again showing we are ready and capable to deal with a wide range of emergencies and challenges. Good job. 👏🚒☔️⛈️
Just reviewing the logs from yesterday and overnight ⛈️ ☔️. Once again @LFRSFireControl dealt with everything that came their way in a incredible and excellent way. Not only looking after LLR residents but also those of Notts and Derby too - great job 👏🚒
