It may not seem like much, but I showered today. For the first time since my top surgery on the 5th, I was able to stand, by myself and wash myself without assistance or with major pain. Every day, it's a step with recovery. Today felt like a marathon, and I won 💚

In 48 hours, I will be recovering from top surgery. It's been almost six years in the making, with doctors appointments, a lot of therapy and truly finding out who I am and how I want to present myself. I'm terrified and excited.

I've been in the hospital since Sunday because of a severe infection. Still trying to get it taken care of, but it's apparently a doozy. The good news is that I got an email from the surgery center and I'm only gonna have to pay like, $90 for the surgery. So, good day/bad day.

I completed the letter and therapy requirements for top surgery. Scheduling team will get with me for the next steps - clinical clearance, PCP referrals, insurance updates or other tasks. Within two weeks. I'm getting to schedule my top surgery soon. Holy shit.

I have officially sent in the letter of recommendation from my therapist to the surgery center for my top surgery. Now to wait until insurance approves it.
