Just another standard day on British trains in first class. @CrossCountryUK 8 car train to Edinburgh with the back 4 locked out of service.
They're on a good train today, 140 miles & on a long run the driver gets an hrs o/t for every 15 mls over the 140...it's a long run for the fireman, he has to throw a ton of coal for every 50 miles of the journey.. that's something like work

2024 me: Buys an album on CD then has to spend an hour finding a portable DVD drive just so I can actually listen to it at home. I didn't fancy sitting in the car just so I could play a CD.
When I first started regularly watching #DoctorWho back in 1988 (age 11) it was on a fuzzy 12" black & white TV. Am I the only one who still finds it amazing that we can now watch it on massive screens in quality we could never have dreamed of?

Seriously, did @elonmusk even consider the stupid branding of Twitter to X and think for a second how it will be used in the real world?
Listening to announcements say "follow us on X the site formerly known as Twitter" doesn't keep the jargon down and help with important info.
Am I the only one who sometimes wants to watch a horror or thriller film but can't be bothered to sit through a film and instead finds a Doctor Who episode which does the same job in half the time?
