Let’s just be honest here: Donald Trump has zero interest in improving the lives of Black folks in this country and has never been serious about helping our community.
In policy, deed, action and rhetoric, he has proven this repeatedly. Just last week, his administration launched an investigation into the programs Wells Fargo instituted a decade to increase Black home ownership. Does that sound like someone who is open to changing course about how he has treated our community?
His nonstop attack on DEI programs, federal budget cuts that had a disproportionate impact on Black federal workers, censorship of Black history or outright removal of Black historic figures, cuts to Medicaid, Medicare and SNAP — does any of that sound like someone who is willing to change their approach?
He got exactly what he wanted out of this dinner. He ran right to the media to brag about how much celebrities like him. He wanted to prove his power and how much people are dying to have access to him.
Congratulations, he did exactly that.

I totally agree. Our people in the Black community are out here suffering. Why wouldn’t we have a conversation with the people in power?
Everything I’ve gotten done for my community has come from being able to talk to Democrats AND Republicans. You have to be willing to sit at the table and ask for what your people need.
Having a conversation with @POTUS45 doesn’t mean you agree with everything he says or does. It means you’re bringing your community’s needs directly to the person who has the power to help. Our people deserve resources, answers, and results.
The fact that every media outlet is making democrats answer for Hasan piker while this unhinged racist travels on Air Force one with the president and nobody says anything tells you everything you need to know about the media in our country. Absolutely insane

This Is America. The violent abuse of power is not new. The rationale and cover-up is not new. American Fascism is not new.
Elaine Massacre - Sept. 1919 White Arkansans, fearful of Black people organizing, aided by federal troops massacre 200 Black sharecroppers after the Black sharecroppers get a white attorney and demand fair prices.
After the massacre, officials worked on a cover-up, claiming that Black people were planning an insurrection.
The victims stood trial.
The only men prosecuted were 122 African Americans, with 73 charged with murder.
Once again, sharecroppers were murdered and land stolen.
Generational wealth was stolen from the Black community, but by all means, let’s listen to Byron Donalds when he said Black families were better during Jim Crow.
