Why does it make sense to build #passivehouse & what are costs/benefits for developers & residents? Expert takes on these Q's, w/ data on #multifamily #passivehouse performance from CPC study w/ @NYCHousing @BrightPowerInc. & @_SWinter via @MHNonline: multihousingnews.com/post/pa…

Great summary Dylan! We get a little grief for the asthetic of our low slope roofs but they are fantastic for maximizing PV size and frankly it makes snow management easier. We also have trouble believing anyone chooses to install a nat gas furnace over an ASHP these days!
Let’s examine the business model. Demand is through roof. Infrastructure (people and locations) are in place. Only competitive disadvantage is non-predatory treatment of employees. Sounds like a management opportunity. (Hint: chasing competitors to the bottom isn’t solution)
We build homes. This tweet is not relevant to what we do. Still needs to be out there for so many reasons. #lesliejonesisanationtreasure
This is a simple yet great analysis of why it’s just good business to build sustainably.

Before we were village builders we only installed solar. While many people like to assault the state for regulation, we found it was local boards who limited free enterprise in the renewable sector. We need more solar farms, storage and net zero housing now. This helps.

This is a wonderful piece. How much less painful would the pandemic have been for millions knowing that, despite everything they were facing, their housing was secure?

500,000 lives lost to COVID-19. It’s an unfathomable number, but each one represents a family that will never again be whole. To those who have lost loved ones: I know no words can numb the pain, but I hope you find some solace in knowing the nation grieves with you.

Facts matter. Solar installation employs 4X the number of people in the US. That’s over 300,000 families being “fed” by solar. Our little company is based is rural NY and has hired workers while oil and gas had massive layoffs. It’s not the future, it’s just reality.
