“She is a sister. Don’t loot here, let’s go there!”
Muslim rioters in France recognize the shop owner as a fellow Muslim just before nearly destroying her store by accident.
Not a single Muslim-owned business or mosque has been looted in the riots.

Leftist rioters do this thing where one of the guys throwing rocks and breaking shit and swinging metal pipes at police is wearing a medical symbol and has a first aid kit and to them, you're not allowed to do anything to that guy bc he's a medic, very amusing

reminds me of that one 4chan thread
This preprint shows our brains are constantly flickering (~16 Hz) between multiple representations of reality, and suggests there is a "selector" that determines which state we perceive.
Interestingly, LSD rather reliably creates a "strobe" effect at about the same frequency. (To be more precise, people report ~15-20 Hz). The bouncing ball illustrated below shows what that 16 Hz strobe effect looks like.
Is LSD perhaps persisting older representations of reality in each conscious epoch? Maybe it is doing something similar in the suppressed epochs since LSD obviously has more cognitive effects than a visual strobe.
Weirdly some drugs like 2C-B give a slower strobe effect (5.5 Hz) and DMT gives a faster strobe (22 Hz). Do they change the rate at which we flip between conscious and suppressed temporal epochs, along with enhancing the persistence of conscious states?

The stock market is going to be nationalized instead of letting it collapse. This is the next bailout, and we're already underway.
Since ~2020, companies themselves have been the only net purchaser of stocks. Retirement funds have been net sellers since the 00's. Ditto the public. Ditto foreign investors. Ditto institutions. Companies are putting ~107% of free cash blow into stock buybacks. That's obviously unsustainable. They're doing it because they know big daddy government is coming to save them.
From Trump accounts to AI nationalization to Elon's "charity", the taxpayer will now be responsible for propping up stocks. That's how they'll get public support: instead of stimulus checks, they'll airdrop stocks into people's hands.
Per usual in these situations, people will think they're getting rich, not realizing prices at the grocery store will go up faster than their portfolios.

There's no rationale for them tearing down statues btw, that has always been cope. Most of these 70-80iq barbarians have no idea who Thomas Jefferson, or Christopher Columbus, or whomever even are, theyre just destroying statues of White people.

We obviously won’t keep the same social contract in a world of ASI; we will get a much worse one.
The social contract we have today was premised on the state/ruling class’s need for lots of human beings to make stuff and to shoot guns.
This allowed the human beings who supplied these needs to extract concessions over time, like rights to free speech and universal suffrage.
But if robots can make all the things and shoot all the guns, then there is simply no basis upon which the vast majority of human beings can negotiate concessions from the ruling class; we will cease to have any kind of leverage at all. At best, this terminates in a kind of permanent techno-feudalism, an infinite future of subjugation under the boot of successive generations of Peter Thiels. At worst, it terminates in a (possibly very slow) genocide of the vast majority of people on earth, because the people who own the robots and the machine intelligences will have no reason to distribute any of the machines’ output to the vast majority of people who lack such ownership stakes.
Arguably, our main hope for “survival” in such a future is that the ruling class might have, in this scenario, one final need: a need for subjects to rule over.
The psychological need for adoration, for power, for social inferiors. The last thing that we’ll have with which to buy our bread will be supplication to the egos of people like Elon Musk. A future of laughing at a cringe trillionaire’s bad jokes to earn your UBI—more or less directly.

This imagines a world where:
- models can be controlled by elites
- humans have no way to organize
Economic utility is only one source of power.
Why would we keep the same social contract when Intelligence is everywhere? Robotics everywhere?
It wont be an instant transition.

The basic takeaway here is that European ruling elites from England to Poland, whether in the 19th Century or 12th Century would have replaced their proud uppity native peasantry with docile Hindu migrant labourers if they could have. The technology simply wasn't yet there.

France has the highest social spending of any country in the world
A nice old building burns, and so the pearl-clutching begins. Where were these pearl clutchers when austerity was wrecking a generation? Why does one town hall grab their attention but millions of schools, hospitals, and homes dilapidated by neoliberalism are of no importance?

France's level of public social spending was third highest in the world at 30.6% of GDP in 2024. Excluding the pandemic, it is slightly down from its 31.9% high in 2014. Total public spending is 57.2%, second highest among large countries not at war and near all-time highs.

Имам една хипотеза - България е крипто-въоръжена държава. Незаконни патлаци висят навсякъде като пушката на Чехов и ако някой опита бунтове с чупене на витрини, веднага ще има двама-трима проснати на тротоара и всичко ще спре

The other was the Convoy. Tptb froze their funds and held kangaroo courts for the leaders
