The former Palestinian prisoner Wafa Jarrar has died from wounds she sustained during her arrest and detention at the hands of Israeli forces.
Jarrar was arrested from her home during the Israeli military’s invasion of the Jenin camp on 21 May.
She sustained severe injuries during her arrest and was denied sufficient medical care by Israeli authorities, resulting in the amputation of her legs high above the knees.
Israeli authorities released her to the West Bank shortly after her legs were amputated to avoid responsibility for her treatment.
Wafa Jarrar is the wife of Palestinian prisoner Abdul Jabbar Jarrar (54 years old), who has been administratively detained since February 2024.
