Today we remember and honor America’s 39th President, Jimmy Carter. He was a dedicated public servant who, alongside his beloved wife Rosalynn, devoted himself to the issues he was passionate about, such as global health, frequently through the good work of The Carter Center. Always a leader of grace and humility, he left the White House and returned to the Sunday School classroom, where he continued to teach for decades. He always believed in a hands-on approach to helping others and for many years after leaving the Presidency continued to be engaged with Habitat for Humanity and to travel the world advocating for solutions to poverty and for the general welfare of those often overlooked. Later Presidents, in a nod to his dignity and passion, continued to leverage him as an interlocutor for the United States. Please join us in remembering President Jimmy Carter—the person, the leader, the man of faith.

Political violence is against the democratic values that we, as both Americans and members of the Forward Party, hold dear. Our thoughts are with the victims of today's violence, their families, and their loved ones. We urge all Americans, no matter their party affiliation or registration, to join us in strongly condemning this attack on former President Trump and all acts of political violence and to work toward a more united America.

Our first candidate for state office in Massachusetts is a bipartisan problem solver running for state house from district 9. Sean Diamond has been a Republican, a Democrat, and now a Forwardist and understands how to work across many aisles to get things done! Passionate about clean energy and sustainability, Sean would be a powerful voice for change and for real solutions for his community and state. We were energized to see and take part in so many of our state chapters' Fourth of July celebrations last week! What we're doing is exactly what this country needs, and we've got such awesome volunteers and supporters. It was great to have them come together to celebrate both the progress that has been made the last two years and the successes in reforming our system that are still to come! Whether marching in local parades, hosting meetups, or something else, our teams in DC, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Virginia, Florida, Delaware, Colorado, North Carolina, and beyond really showed up!
