That's a valid concern. Students shouldn't have to choose between waiting for NELFUND disbursement and losing out on hostel allocation. Many schools have already resumed, and the delay is putting students under pressure. Hopefully, disbursement is prioritised

According to the information made available to me, the issue arose from an error on the school portal. Consequently, the management has suspended the payment portal until all errors are thoroughly verified and corrected.

Please contact your school's NELFUND desk to confirm the payment status. How long has it been showing Payment Accepted?

Payment Accepted means your application has been accepted at that stage, but it doesn't necessarily mean your school has received and uploaded the payment to your student portal yet. There may still be a delay in disbursement or reconciliation.

Please visit your school's NELFUND desk with your application details. They can check the reason your dispute is still pending and advise on the next step. The resolution time depends on the issue, so we can't give an exact timeframe.

NELFUND is introducing reforms, but students also need timely updates from their institutions. Receiving a loan approval is one thing; having your school recognise the payment is another.

New payment system NELFUND is piloting a token-based payment system to prevent double school-fee payments and reduce refund complications. Students may be able to authorise school-fee payments directly to their institutions. Will this finally reduce the payment issues
