Do you live in North Lincolnshire and need urgent mental health support? The Acorn Centre is our 24/7 walk-in clinic. You can turn up at any time, on any day, and access mental health support. Hear from the first person to use the service: "From the moment I arrived, I was made to feel welcome. The staff took the time to sit with me, listen, and help me feel safe when I was struggling. We chatted about shared interests and dogs, which helped me settle down, and throughout my visit everyone treated me with kindness and respect. I felt so comfortable and supported that I didn't want to leave. When I returned later, I received the same warm welcome. The team helped me access practical support, including food and advice about other services available to me. The Acorn Centre gave me somewhere I felt safe, comfortable and cared for when I needed it most. I can't thank the staff enough for everything they did for me." Today (30 September) marks an important milestone for mental health support in North Lincolnshire as we officially open the doors to The Acorn Centre, our new 24/7 walk-in urgent mental health support service. Delivered by RDaSH in partnership with North Lincolnshire Mind and The People Focused Group, The Acorn Centre brings together NHS services, voluntary sector expertise and lived experience to provide support when people need it most. If you, or someone you know, is aged 18 or over, lives in North Lincolnshire and is experiencing a mental health crisis, help is now available whenever it's needed. At The Acorn Centre, you'll find: · Walk-in access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week · No appointment needed · Support from NHS professionals, volunteers and people with lived experience · A calm, safe and welcoming environment No one should face a mental health crisis alone. Meet some of our team at The Acorn Centre in North Lincolnshire. Opening at midday on Wednesday 30 September, The Acorn Centre will mark the start of a new chapter in mental health support for local people. Open day and night, the walk-in service will provide access to peer support workers with lived experience, volunteers and NHS mental health professionals. Congratulations to our Placement Learning Team, who have been shortlisted for a Chief Allied Health Professions Officer Award, hosted by NHS England. The team has been recognised for developing an innovative profession-specific student induction programme that has transformed induction from a single event into an ongoing learning resource. Through a series of interactive, profession-specific workbooks, students can access tailored information before placement and revisit it throughout their learning journey, helping them feel welcomed, prepared and connected to the breadth of learning opportunities available across RDaSH. This national recognition reflects the passion, innovation and collaborative effort involved in improving the student experience and supporting the next generation of healthcare professionals.
