Delighted to re-open the Bate Hall. My best wishes to Susan and Dale and their hard working staff. Looking forward to trying the food and beer.
#Macclesfield's new Deputy Mayor @SandyMacCentral attended his first official appointment on Thursday.
He reopened The Bate Hall, to celebrate their new management of Susan Edwards and her partner Dale.
Have you been in to see the changes to the relaunched Chestergate pub?

Make the most of the English asparagus season with a luxurious risotto.
As well as a generous amount of the chopped spears in the creamy rice, I've added a topping of golden, melting grilled goat’s cheese plus charred asparagus tips!

Last night's homemade hummus topped with peppers roasted with cumin, garlic + a few extra chickpeas tossed in near the end.
Gorgeous with mint dressing (whizzed up olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, honey, fresh mint leaves), roasted aubergine, beef kofta, salad.

Orange Victoria sponge with homemade orange curd.
I was amazed to find that one well-known, very traditionally branded range of fruit curds contains palm oil! Thankfully, it's not difficult to make your own.

I can't take the credit for this gorgeous lamb curry we had for dinner tonight.
Other half made it using fantastic local mature lamb from @TroutsdaleFarm & an Achari Gosht spice mix.
Served with mushroom basmati rice, carrot salad + (my contribution) cucumber & mint raita.
