This week, @FAMUFSUCOE welcomed representatives from the DEVCOM Army Research Laboratory (@T2COM_HQ, @USArmy) to the @NationalMagLab and @FloridaState's new Interdisciplinary Research and Commercialization Building to learn more about innovative research being conducted in Tallahassee! The visit kicked off with introductions from FAMU-FSU College of Engineering Dean Suvranu De, @FSUartssciences Dean Sam Huckaba, @FAMU_1887 SVP for Health Science Enterprise Robert Nobles, Jr., MagLab Director Kathleen Amm, and FSU VP for Research Stacey Patterson. After a postdoctoral appointment at @Stanford, a research position at @NationalMagLab, and experience as a data scientist in industry, three-time @FSUPhysics alumnus Scott Riggs identified the need for AI that can accurately execute science, not just talk about it. In 2025, he launched his own company, findwhatmatters.ai, which built the Iterative Guide and Orchestrated Research, or “IGOR,” a first-of-its-kind Bayesian AI scientist. Florida’s first formal graduate-level credential in quantum information science and engineering is officially at @FloridaState! The Graduate Certificate in Quantum Science & Technology will provide graduate students and working professionals with rigorous training across quantum physics, materials science, chemistry, computer science and engineering. The certificate is now accepting applications for Spring 2027 enrollment. Administered by the FSU Quantum Initiative, the certificate draws on courses from multiple departments and two colleges — @FSUartssciences and @FAMUFSUCOE.
