Check out our recent paper from the @MohanyLab on the spinning dynamics of self-excited azimuthal #acoustic modes in cavities. This is an issue in combustors and pipelines that could lead to their #failure. The paper is published in Physics of Fluids. pubs.aip.org/aip/pof/article…

Very proud of my graduate students who have a wonderful team spirit! Congratulations Mohammed for successfully defending your PhD thesis 👏.
The @MohanyLab research group is celebrating our very own Dr. Mohammed Alziadeh for successfully defending his PhD thesis. He was presented a gift by the group members.

The @MohanyLab has been busy this summer! Excellent work everyone.
I enjoyed attending the @ASMEdotorg PVP conference. My PhD student @ontariotech_u Mohammed Alziadeh did a great job presenting his work with my other PhD student Rasha Noufal @Noufal_Rasha at @MohanyLab on the suppression of #acoustic resonance excitation in industrial equipment.

For my #Mechanical #Vibrations students. This video demonstrates how sound-structure interaction works. Two tuning forks with a frequency of 450Hz. When one is hit, the #Sound wave excites the other tuning fork to vibrate & the pendulum oscillates. @MohanyLab @ontariotech_u

Seems like an interesting discussion is going on. Perhaps deciding on what food to order @DrAtefMohany? 😋
The discussion continues during lunch at the #FSSI2022 symposium. Professors Hassan @MarwanHassan0, Mohany @DrAtefMohany, and Antunes.
