To be sure, @CTIA is absolutely right about this, and @FSFthinktank has made the same point many times. The @FCC should grant AT&T's preemption petition promptly.

Requests by @VerizonPolicy & other #telecom providers to discontinue offering "plain old telephone service" over legacy copper wires are important to modernization efforts. Verizon explains that in 9 states covered only 2.7% of its customers use POTS.

Not all so-called "public-private partnerships" are sound, and many often engage in wasteful endeavors. But I agree with @OliviaTrustyFCC that this one appears worthy of serving WVA residents in a positive way. @SenCapito @wvgovernor
Great to visit West Virginia this week and see thoughtful broadband policy in action. As the first stop on my visit, I was pleased to join Governor Morrisey @wvgovernor, Senator Capito @SenCapito, and other federal, state, and local officials supporting rural fiber deployment by Armstrong @followarmstrong through public-private partnerships. Working together, policymakers and providers can bring connectivity to even the most rural, hard-to-serve areas.
