With Gabriel Amard's election, LFI has secured its first Senate seat since the party was founded.

🗳️RN vice-president Sébastien Chenu (@sebchenu) says the party is set to form a parliamentary group in the Senate for the first time in its history, following initial results from today's Senate elections.

MP Philippe Brun has been expelled from the Socialist Party after a former parliamentary assistant reported ‘serious incidents’ of violence to the party leadership. He will therefore be unable to take part in the party’s primary ahead of the presidential election.
