On this date during 1993, an F4 tornado killed 7 & injured 100 around and in the Tulsa metro-Catoosa area. Many might recall the devastation at a metro travel plaza 30 years ago this day. The tornado heavily impacted Bruce's truck stop at I44 and 161st, where some of the days most chaotic scenes played out. Though the max. width was only 250 yards wide, this mostly obscured tornado's core was, at times, incredibly powerful. The tornado was the final F4 or higher tornado to strike #okwx prior to the infamous May 3, 1999 outbreak.
