It is an honor to present this resolution to @FLHSMV FHP Trooper of the Year Steven Turner to recognize his incredible bravery in continuing to pursue an armed, dangerous criminal into the woods in the middle of the night even after being shot. I am incredibly proud of Trooper Turner for his heroic actions and commend all our State Troopers who selflessly serve and protect us every day.

Earlier this week, we paid our respects to our brothers who left us too soon. It took an army to make this memorial possible in such a short time and under unpredictable circumstances to honor Corporal Luis Paez, Deputy Ralph “Butch” Waller, and Deputy Ignacio “Dan” Diaz, and to support their loving families. We are deeply grateful for the support of our community, not just locally, but from law enforcement agencies across the country. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to local and state officials, as well as President-Elect @realDonaldTrump , for being there. To every single person who contributed, attended, and made the memorial truly meaningful, we are forever thankful. Thank you for standing with us during this difficult time. Rest in peace, brothers. Ride in heaven. We’ll take it from here. 🖤 #PBSOstrong
