@FIBECDT Cambridge Festival games "Nature-Inspired Infrastructure: building resilient Bridges and Buildings to counter Climate Change" a huge success! Well done Cohort 5!

ALT For the FIBE2 Cambridge Festival games, Cohort 5 spent 50 hours laser-cutting the beautiful giveaway bridge and house sets. The public loved it! The activities explained the application of biomimicry used in Civil Engineering, eg. how the steel cables in a suspension bridge lend strength and stability like spider silk for a spider web or how the foundations of a building anchor a house like the sturdy roots of a tree. The interchangeable bridge and house sets illustrate reuse of materials and sustainability in our strive for net zero carbon emissions to combat climate change.
FIBE3 CDT delighted to be successful in our @EPSRC bid for a Centre for Doctoral Training in Future Infrastructure and the Built Environment: Unlocking Net Zero.
