Record-breaking numbers at FHC! 🎉 Over 71 students signed up for this year's program in September! Thanks to Dalles and Jackson for helping with sign-ups! Our team is preparing for interviews after fall break, and we can't wait to meet everyone!

FHC is honored to receive Strengthening Youth Programs in Indiana initiative funding. This support will help us sustain our programs, strengthen our organization, & deepen our impact for the young people and families we serve. We’re grateful to @Indiana_Youth for investing in us.

Big news for FHC! 🌱 We received a $50,000 grant from the Indianapolis Foundation to expand our Youth-Led Environmental Justice Pipeline, helping youth build leadership and workforce skills while leading projects that strengthen their community. 💚

Yesterday was Ms. Aster’s birthday! 🎉💚 We’re celebrating FHC’s founder, executive director, gardener, teacher, idea-maker, and the heart behind so much of what we do. Happy Birthday, Ms. Aster! We hope this next year brings you all the joy and love you give to others.

It may be in the 80s today, but we know fall is coming… eventually. 🍂 Until then, we’re enjoying the changing season at FHC and remembering that there’s a time for everything.

Congrats to the FHC team on completing Six Sigma training with Joy E. Mason of SixSigmaIndy! Thanks to IAAQLI and our supporters for making it possible as we get back to our roots: youth learning to lead. And yes, Mike was there virtually. We Photoshopped him in to prove it. 😂

🌳🪓Recent Indy storms left behind plenty of cleanup, and Dalles is getting to work. There’s some R = Resilience & Drive at work too: pitching in, adapting when things don’t go as planned, and helping take care of the space we share.

Summer program may be over, but the work doesn’t stop! 🌱🛠️ Dalles and Jerry are tackling some end-of-summer cleanup and maintenance to keep FHC ready for our students and all that the seasons ahead will bring.

We’re grateful to @MajorToolNews for welcoming FHC students for an end-of-summer tour led by FHC Board Member John Huter. Experiences like this support the E in RISE, Economic Security, by exposing students to career paths and opportunities for their futures. 💚

We got hands-on in the kitchen this summer with @Marion_Health! 👩🏾‍🍳 FHC students worked to prep and season burgers and chicken wings while learning about food preparation, kitchen safety, and healthy cooking habits. Thank you to their team 🍔🍗

Reflecting on us wrapping up another incredible summer at FHC! 🌱💚 Our end-of-program celebration gave us a chance to look back on the friendships built, lessons learned, challenges overcome, and growth we saw in each of our students.

Last night was our first National Night Out without Mr. Willie Hawkins. Since 2018, he trusted our youth to lead the planning of this event, believing in their ability to serve their community. We honored his legacy by continuing the work he loved. Thank you, Mr. Hawkins.

Today we remember our dear friend, Ms. Gina Fears, whose unwavering belief in young people helped shape FHC and the Martindale-Brightwood community for more than a decade. 🕊️ Aug. 1 Visitation: 11 AM Service: 12 PM Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Indianapolis
