The Hybrid Communication Network (#HYCON) has been successfully validated as part of the @SESAR_JU #FCDI “Hyper Connected ATM Precursor” Exercise 3, using LTE and Starlink links. Combining public and aviation radios will boost ATM today and tomorrow.

#FCDI Solution “FCI services – IPS Enhancements” Exercise 5, focusing on interoperability of ATN/IPS backbones based on different mobility technologies, has started. With this development, it lays the foundations for future IPS ground infrastructures global interoperability.

Integration of the Hybrid Communication Network (HYCON) into ATN/IPS mobility & multilink has begun under FCDI Solution 0340 “FCI services – IPS Enhancements” Exercise 1. Using public and aviation radio technologies for safety-critical comms will boost today’s and tomorrow’s ATM.

Validation Exercise 3 of the #SESAR #FCDI project is now testing Selective Simulcast: a function replicating data across multiple A/G datalinks to reduce latency & improve availability, continuity and safety in ATC communications. #EuropeanDigitalSky @SESAR_JU

Yesterday, the #FCDI team hit another key milestone at the 2nd Technical Review held at @SESAR_JU HQ in Brussels. It was a full day of presentations and analysis, highlighting the work done so far and outlining the next steps to be taken. #StayTuned!

From February 11-12, during the #FCDI Solution 339 Workshop No.4, @thalesgroup & @ALTYS_Tech showcased their #HCATM airborne and ground prototypes for the first time at the Thales lab in Toulouse, providing partners a full view of the system’s capabilities.
