United effort. Record results. Stronger communities. #FBI

Participants are getting an inside look at the FBI’s polygraph program and cell phone forensics.
Great engagement from our community members again this week.
Many across South Alabama are recovering from Hurricane Isaias, and scammers often exploit these difficult moments. A few precautions can protect you and your community from disaster and charity fraud.
Do not give out personal information without confirming the legitimacy of the person contacting you. Do your homework when it comes to donations. Legitimate organizations won't pressure you to share sensitive financial details.
Report disaster or charity fraud by calling 1-800-CALL-FBI or submit an electronic tip at tips.fbi.gov
Today, #FBI Mobile arrested two individuals on federal charges related to election crimes.

This #FBI will continue working with partners and the public to help keep communities safe.
Great first night of the #FBI Citizens Academy in Baldwin County. Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jordan Hadfield kicked things off with opening remarks and a welcome to our newest class.
We look forward to a great session ahead and appreciate our community’s interest in learning more about the work we do every day.
Special thanks to Sheriff Anthony Lowery for the use of the BCSO Training Center.
As a result of an investigation by #FBI Special Agents in Montgomery, working closely with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Metro Area Crime Suppression Squad, Michael Morris was recently sentenced to 45 months in federal prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
This case reflects the strong partnerships across our region and our shared commitment to public safety. The FBI remains committed to crushing violent crime and rebuilding public trust.
We appreciate the assistance of all federal, state, and local partners, and especially the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Alabama for successfully prosecuting this case.
If you have information about violent crime or other illegal activity, please contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI or submit a tip at tips.fbi.gov. Community tips make a real difference and help us keep Alabama safe.

Members of FBI Mobile's Investigative Genetic Genealogy team recently presented Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs Cemetery Director Joseph Buschell with a plaque of appreciation for his outstanding support during the 2025 burial of Tanya Denise Jackson, PFC, U.S. Army, and her daughter, Tatiana Marie Dykes.
Thanks to Buschell's professionalism and compassion, both were laid to rest together, with honors.
Today, the FBI’s Mobile Division, in coordination with the U.S. Secret Service, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the University of South Alabama (USA), the USA Police Department, the Mobile Police Department, the Saraland Police Department, and the Alabama Fusion Center, arrested three individuals for allegedly making threatening communications directed toward the President of the United States.
These arrests are a result of the FBI’s continued efforts to identify and mitigate targeted violence, threats, and criminal activity against government personnel, entities, and operations, as outlined in the September 2025, National Security Presidential Memorandum (NSPM-7): Countering Domestic Terrorism and Organized Political Violence. They were closely coordinated with the Joint Mission Center (JMC).
Additional information will be released as it becomes available.

Mobile Florist Sentenced to Life for Exploiting Children
Tyler Matthew McIlwain, age 31, has been sentenced to life in federal prison after investigators uncovered evidence of child sexual abuse material and the exploitation of a minor. The case began with a tip to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office ICAC Unit and quickly expanded with FBI assistance.
SAC Christopher R. Flowers: “Child exploitation inflicts lasting harm. Today’s sentence underscores the FBI’s determination to protect victims and bring offenders to justice. Strong partnerships like this are vital, and we urge the public to report suspected child exploitation at tips.fbi.gov.”
Cases like this show the impact of coordinated law enforcement efforts at a time when national crime rates remain at historic lows.
FBI Mobile participated in a great week of training at the Southeastern Law Enforcement Development Seminar last week, alongside our partners at the Lee County Sheriff's Office, Opelika Police Department, Auburn Police Department, and @FBIBirmingham. Special thanks to our guest instructors including U.S. Attorney Sean Costello of the Southern District of Alabama, who delivered the keynote address at our closing banquet.
Joint trainings like this ensure our teams are fully coordinated so we can better protect the communities we serve. We appreciated the contributions and dedication of each agency to help achieve our mission.
