When conflict hits, everyone is affected. For fishers in Sinnar State, it meant: 🏚️ A home left behind 🚤 Fishing boats destroyed 🔥 Nets burned 🎣 A livelihood lost But as @FAOemergencies Director highlighted, emergency agriculture is about more than replacing what was lost. It is about providing the tools needed to access food and restart livelihoods, the skills to grow and the resilience to navigate what may come next. #AgricultureCan

🌊For a fisher like Babiker, being on the water means everything. When @FAOemergencies Director Rein Paulsen visited Khor Ajwal in White Nile State, Babiker shared how FAO’s support helped him and his fellow fishers return to the water. The boats they received enabled them to restart their livelihoods, but learning to build their own boats and make fishing nets was the real game changer. The result? 🐟Immediate access to food. 💰Income to meet needs, including school fees. ⬆️And importantly, the skills to build a future for themselves. On their terms. #AgricultureCan

🐐In an IDP settlement in Al Jabalain, White Nile State, @FAOemergencies Director Rein Paulsen met Karima, a mother of seven who fled Blue Nile after being displaced by the conflict. Despite receiving food assistance, Karima had no source of income, and her four-year-old daughter, Zulfa, was suffering from malnutrition. Last year, FAO provided Karima and other families like hers with five goats. Last week, she told Rein that her herd has now grown to 11, Zulfa is thriving and her family has sustained access to milk, meat and income. #AgricultureCan

In White Nile, Sudan, @FAO gave five goats each to women-headed households and mothers of families. Support ended last December. A year on, families still have at least double what they started with. That's resilience. Hear from @FAOemergencies Director, #OnTheRoad.
