FAO rep. @shajjhassan met with MoA representative, Ninewa’s Director of Agriculture and his team to discuss continued cooperation and future @FAO support for communities in Sinjar, with a focus on strengthening agricultural livelihoods and supporting recovery.
For his part, Ninewa’s Director of Agriculture honoured FAO Representative in Iraq @shajjhassan with a commemorative shield in appreciation of FAO’s achievements and its support for returnees and rural communities across the governorate.

من جانبه، حرص مدير زراعة نينوى على تكريم ممثل الفاو في العراق @shajjhassan بدرع تقديري، عرفاناً بما حققته المنظمة من إنجازات وما قدّمته من دعم للعائدين والمجتمعات الريفية في أنحاء المحافظة.

شارك ممثل الفاو في العراق، @shajjhassan إلى جانب ممثل وزارة الزراعة والسلطات المحلية، في افتتاح مهرجان خيرات نينوى الأول للمنتوجات الزراعية والحيوانية والغذائية، مسلطاً الضوء على الإمكانات الزراعية للمحافظة.
في كلمته، أشاد بالدور القيادي للسلطات المحلية ووزارة الزراعة، مؤكداً أن شراكتهما مع الفاو أسهمت في استعادة سبل العيش الزراعية في نينوى، وأن الدروس المستفادة من هذا النجاح تُطبّق اليوم في مناطق أخرى من العراق.
🌾 Celebrating Nineveh’s agricultural heritage and the farmers shaping its future!
FAO Representative in Iraq @shajjhassan joined local authorities and officials for the inauguration of the first Nineveh Agricultural Festival, highlighting the region’s agricultural potential.
In his remarks, he recognized the leadership of local authorities and the Ministry of Agriculture, highlighting how their partnership with FAO has helped restore agricultural livelihoods in Nineveh and how lessons from this success are now being applied in other parts of Iraq.
🌱Accompanying participating officials, @shajjhassan toured farmers’ stands, including one showcasing products from FAO-supported farmers under a completed project in Nineveh, and met producers bringing the region’s agricultural potential to life.
🌍 ضمن فعاليات #منتدى_الأغذية_العالمي في مقر منظمة الفاو بروما، شارك مكتب المنظمة في العراق في جلسة «المرأة في النظم الزراعية والغذائية: كسر الحواجز في مواجهة الأزمات»، لبحث دور المرأة الريفية في بناء نظم زراعية وغذائية أكثر قدرة على الصمود أمام تغيّر المناخ.
🌱 استناداً إلى تجربة مبادرة النساء الرائدات مناخيا (#ClimateWiseWomen) التي تنفذها #الفاو_في_العراق، أكدت النقاشات أهمية الاستثمار في قدرات النساء، وتعزيز أدوارهن القيادية، وضمان إسهام أصواتهن في صياغة الحلول المناخية.
