Driving down rural state highways in a 44 foot RV, nothing in sight, and the ECU blows codes for a failed DEF header. Yes, DEF reduces emissions. I saw the numbers. But... The EPA regulations are so tight that the engine will derate to 5 mph. Thankfully this didn't happen this time. Its the 2nd time we've had to deal with a failed DEF header. Something needs to be done about the programming on the ECUs. It's so incredibly dangerous to derate that far because of a failed part that isn't necessary for proper vehicle performance. @EPA, come on. The line between environmental protection and human safety is totally crossed here. Find a balance. Right now it's absurd and dangerous.

They aren't all like this... but damn. Thats almost a 25X call.
