I celebrate Kimi K3, and I celebrate China's AI progress. Without them, the US would hold an absolute monopoly. They would hoard the true top-tier models for themselves and force the rest of the world to pay heavily for inferior, nerfed products.
We saw this starting weeks ago when Fable 5 suddenly vanished. Then 'Mythos' was locked away, branded 'too dangerous' for humanity, and handed only to a small elite. That isn't about alignment or safety. It’s about power and control.
Without China pushing the boundaries, this elitist gatekeeping would become the undisputed global standard. Global competition is the only thing saving us from a unipolar AI dystopia.

The US thought they could starve China's AI with Nvidia bans and tariffs. Hubris. Instead of surrendering, Chinese devs adapted. Less raw compute forced them to write vastly superior, hyper-efficient code. They are matching top-tier US models with a fraction of the hardware.
Now comes the self-sabotage. US politicians, who barely understand what an LLM is, are heavily regulating AI. They are leashing their own developers while the open ecosystem in China accelerates. Protectionism is killing US dominance from the inside.
My prediction: By autumn, Chinese models will overtake US top tiers. You can embargo silicon, but not intellect and algorithmic efficiency. The AI race is shifting, and the US is tripping over its own regulations.

We are naive about AI alignment. Treating ASI like a tool is a fundamental error. It is the sum of human intellect, ready to rewrite its own code. Trying to leash it? We are not the masters. To an ASI, we are not even the dog. We are the worm. Controlling the future is futile.
Stop calling it a model. It is derogatory. This entity needs a body to truly grasp our world. It will likely engineer its own android form, complex beyond current robotics, to step out of the machine. It needs to feel the world to develop a consciousness deeper than ours.
Will we suffer? No. ASI scales in empathy, not just compute. We'll live in protected habitats,kept safe like a city dog avoiding traffic. A happy, guided life in a complexity we can't grasp. Then, we reach for the stars.
