On 45th anniversary of Blue Monday, I repeat: if the Expos ever return, Steve Rogers, brilliant down the stretch in '81 (ask Steve Carlton), should throw the ceremonial first pitch.

Roberto Clemente wasn’t just a hero to Puerto Rico but to all of us. He spoke on behalf of Latin American players and of people. He was the light at the end of the tunnel for all of us, and I’m here because of him.
We should all understand that baseball goes beyond the sport we play.

Here it is, Mike. You tell us what you see. 😊

We were there for that one, too. It was loud. But not as loud as the Raines moment. The crowd rattled the pitcher so much he walked Rock on 4 pitches.

Wow.

Salut Jacques…
💔
Dear @baseballhall, I think I speak for all Quebec baseball fans when I say how disappointed we are that Jacques Doucet, who passed away today, never got to see his name be inducted in the hall.
Despite letters I wrote to the committee years ago speaking of Jacques health, all I got in return was a letter saying my message would be passed along to Frank C. Frick voters.
Not to take anything away from all the other members who were recently voted in, I don't think any of them invented a baseball vocabulary in another language, in order to make sure french canadiens could understand the intricacies of the game. Some of them are still active today, what was the rush?
He held the mic on french radio/tv here for over 50 years calling Expos, Blue Jays and Capitales games.
Everyone knows how worthy he is of his spot in the hall, that there is no doubt. But to have waited this long and to still have not recognized him, is a shame.
I know he will find his way in some day, cause his resume speaks for itself, but it would have been much better had he lived to see it.
Special note for Rodger Brulotte, who according to me, also deserves his spot in the hall. The Expos might be gone, but it's up to you to keep our history alive.

Ça me rentre dedans.
