First ascent of Rottalhorn (3,971m) Westface‼️
Alps
One of the “last problems of the Alps” now solved.
Silvan Schüpbach, Peter von Känel and Rolf Zurbrügg climbed it, opening a beautiful line on the Westface.
“In fact, you can still find challenges in traditional alpinism today - beyond speed records and absurd media spectacles. A good example is the west face of the Rottalhorn. For some unknown reason, it has remained untouched until today.”

Our voices change the tone
Now a cry, and then a groan
Huddled words have stopped somehow
And the silence's sticky now
Trying thoughts have banished sleep
Our night is fast to flee
Please invite me to your day
I'll be with you on your way

What is going on at #Everest? One dead a day, too many rescues, and more that we don't know about yet. Not climbing accidents but exhaustion, AMS, previous conditions, abandoned sick climbers... Something is failing miserably here.

Great research work by @Angelab8848 describing details of recent Annapurna summit and controversies. It was only video of @sajid_sadpara which cleared up all kind of doubts. A true alpinist !!
Trackers are often confusing and might raise doubts on summits, as recent climbs illustrate this and are worth examining for the future.
