NFTs Shouldn't Just Sit in Wallets Waiting to Be Flipped. They Should Be Part of What We Use.
After two weeks of consistently building, testing, fixing, and rebuilding,NexPlay is now live in public beta, built on @Base.
NFT projects already have the art, characters, identity, and communities. But after the mint, what keeps people engaged?
For many projects, the NFT eventually becomes something sitting in a wallet, waiting to be flipped or simply forgotten.
We wanted to build something different.
Introducing @NexPlayGame
NexPlay is a Game-as-a-Service platform built for NFT projects and their communities.
The idea is simple:
>NFT projects bring the community.
>Their NFTs bring the identity.
>We provide the experience through our game engine.
Instead of asking an NFT project to build an entire gaming infrastructure from scratch, [NAME] gives them a gaming environment they can plug their community into.
This is where NFTs become part of the experience.
Your NFT becomes part of the game.
> NFT artwork can be used as:
> Game pieces
> Player skins
> Game boards
> Themes & Avatars
> Visual identities
> Exclusive community assets
Imagine playing Chess with your NFT collection as the pieces or board design.
Playing Ludo with a board built around your collection's artwork.
Or playing Checkers while representing your NFT community with custom skins.
The NFT isn't just something you own anymore.
It's something you use.
Built for players
The first games currently available are:

Players can:
1. Challenge anyone to a 1v1 battle
2. Play ranked matches through matchmaking
3. Practice against AI
4. Join NFT-gated tournaments
5. Use NFT-based skins and themes
6. Chat with opponents in real time
7. Use in-game voice chats
8. Compete for rewards
The goal is to make the game enjoyable even before adding the NFT layer.
Built for NFT communities
The other side of NexPlay is the NFT projects and communties.
Projects can create NFT-gated tournament where only holders of its collection or holders from partner communities can participate.
The project controls the experience.
NexPlay handles the gaming infrastructure, matchmaking, tournament brackets, and reward distribution.
This creates another way for communities to interact beyond Discord and X.
Instead of simply saying "I'm a holder."
Players can actually represent the collection.
Community becomes part of the game
We're also building toward a system where NFT communities can compete against each other.
Individual players can climb the rankings while their wins contribute to their community's standing.
NexPlay also includes an embedded wallet, allowing users to interact with crypto directly from the application.
Users can send, receive, and swap assets without constantly leaving the gaming experience.
The goal is to remove as much friction as possible between:
Playing → Earning → Owning → Using
If an NFT can become your identity, your skin, your game piece, your tournament access, and your way of representing a community, then the artwork becomes much more than something sitting in a wallet.

Took a full week off after TOKEN2049 to reset mentally & process the reality in front of me. Reading this from @KingBootoshi was the exact gut check I needed.
Motion is a privilege the living have. You simply cannot know what works if you don’t move, try, fail & pivot.
For the last 8 months, I poured everything into Hash PayLink. Almost every single dime I made on the side this year went straight back into building. What began as a simple QR/Link payment experiment is now evolving into real payment infra solving everyday settlement problems across Africa.
Singapore & TOKEN2049 shifted my perspective forever.
To the @XLayerOfficial ecosystem: you’ve been an anchor & one of my biggest pillars of support, alongside @circle & @dragon888 from 0G labs.
Huge thanks to @BunsanXBT. Your push gave me 3 minutes on stage in front of judges at an in-person buildathon which led directly into private rooms with @OKX_Ventures pitching what we’ve built. Nothing is signed & nothing is guaranteed, but stepping into that room was enough validation.
Even the unplanned moments left a mark thanks to @trader1Ms. At Marquee, when my GPay wouldn’t work for a drink, a stranger stepped in & paid with his card. Turned out he was a VC & 5 mins later we were talking fundraising. And to @vanessaaal7 from @0G_Labs, even though timing made me miss our demo at 0G Dev Day, your patience & steady support since day one have meant the world to me.
The biggest lesson I brought home? Building in silence can be a trap sometimes. If you aren’t talking to people with the right experience, you might just be perfecting something nobody needs. The moment you step outside, observe real systems & talk to people, everything shifts, opportunities meet you at full speed.
Now comes the hardest part: moving from building for hackathons to building a sustainable, venture backed company puts you in an incredibly vulnerable spot.
It feels like you're only 10% of the way there, but you soon realised that 10% is the foundation of the entire vision.
Coming back, I had to be brutally honest with myself:
- Will things break on launch day? Probably. Just not badly enough to make me quit.
- Will every VC back this vision? No. Believing without guarantees is what makes it ambitious.
- Am I scared, exhausted & tempted to look back? Absolutely. But fear is just proof i’ve been on the right course & reached the edge of what’s comfortable.
As Bootoshi said: FUCK IT, DO IT SCARED.
Building this is healing my younger self. Coming from where I come from, standing on global stages isn't just about me. It’s about representing young, hungry builders who grew up the exact same way I did & proving that geography is not destiny.
To anyone out there building hard with low purchasing power, fighting fatigue, & wondering if the endless hours mean anything: stay in motion. Mess around, take the hits, build relentlessly & talk to people.
The sacrifice will hurt, but the growth is worth every single sleepless night.

The internet has a funny way of measuring people.
You have 10k followers? You're influential. You have 200 followers? People might overlook you.
But does a follower count really tell the whole story?
