Yep, the third act is my favourite part of the film, it's the club scene that most other people have mentioned being a highlight, and it's GREAT, but it's much more comicbooky than the rest of the film by far.
Replying to @Exitoverhere
Is the tonal shift you're talking about the film getting more "comic-booky" or something like that?
Got to go to an early screening of #Clayface out of nowhere which was really fun.
Spoiler-free review in this thread ig!
The third act is probably gonna be the more divisive part of the film, last 30 minutes do tonally shift from what the film was, and it's not going to work for some people, It really worked for me, it hooked me right back into the film after the second act lost me ever so slightly
I feel like people who say this didn't actually watch Crisis, the Earth's they go to are throughout time as WELL, they go to an 1800's Earth where they see Jonah Hex, they go to Earth-16 which is in 2046, they go to Earth-99 which is the future and like Batman Beyond.
One of the very first scenes in the first episode of Crisis is Ray Palmer talking about how they must have traveled throughout time AND the multiverse (in reference to Earth-16), they clearly wanted you to know from the offset that the Earth's weren't also in present day.
I agreed completely until Superman & Lois came along and turned a compelling alternate Superman in Bizarro, making his story tragic, and then made it even more tragic by having Lex Luthor torture him over and over until he was a killing machine that became Doomsday.
God man, all the replies being like "YOU'RE NOT EVEN PAYING ATTENTION TO THE SHOW"
The show is not that hard to understand, yes they make it clear Hal has no one, that him dying isnt super known yet, but the point is that the show has shown Hal has NO ONE, that's the problem ffs
I am still really enjoying Lanterns but the idea in Superman that there's decades and decades of DC history just doesn't feel accurate.
Like what do you mean it's Hal Jordan's funeral, who was the Green Lantern for over twenty years, yet there are only three people at it.
I'm loving Lanterns, I think the tone and dialogue is great, but yeah, this is unfortunately accurate, and I can't really fault anyone for not being in love with the show when it really is kinda doing the stuff that the CW shows got so much shit for back in the day
Guy just described the TV format and went "It's so comicbooky!"
Two episodes in and love how these are written in comic book fashion. Ep 1 ends on cliff hanger of Hal dead in 2026. Ep 2 ends on cliff hanger of Sinestro knowing something special about Jon Stewart. Show looks grounded as true detective, but the episodic nature of each story revealing another clue to a larger run is very comic book.
So many leaks said Doom's mask doesn't come off in the film at all, so this is actually genuinely kind of a huge spoiler for him to share 😭😭
David Harbour shares a line from ‘AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY’:
“You… are Tony Stark.”
