1983 Japanese Commodore 64 ad — ¥99,800 (~$415 at the time).
While the C64 was becoming a global hit, the Japanese version was a short-lived release. It had a modified keyboard with Katakana on the key fronts, a C= Lock (instead of Shift Lock), a ¥ key, and altered character ROMs/KERNAL so it could handle Japanese text.
Graphics and sound stayed the same.
