Unfortunately, the truth is that there are lots of people who helped build this city that are slowly being priced out of the city. That's bad for them, but it's WORSE for vitality of NYC. Some of the things that make the city special can't last here.
Well said. New York City is the only place to be. There are forces against it—in the modern era, remote work is so easy—but America will always have one elite, leading city and it will always be New York.

Earlier today, @NYCCouncil passed Intro 910-A, repealing the visibility requirement for storefront security grilles required under Local Law 75 of 2009. With the passage of this bill, the 70% visibility requirement under LL75 no longer applies, and existing grilles can remain.

There's an abandoned rail line in Queens. Two opposing advocacy groups have ideas about what to do with it. @thequeenslink wants a park AND a rail line. @TheQueensWay wants a park WITHOUT rail. @NYCMayor has decided to move forward with QueensWay, did he make the right call?

New York commuters face some of the highest transit pass costs globally, needing 50 rides a month under current fare capping just to break even. An affordable monthly pass would align the city with international standards and provide genuine financial relief for daily riders.
