Hey @quixeltools my digital media students are starting to use UE5 with Bridge and we can't login due to Firewall rules blocking epicgames. I can't even request support as I can't login. I was hoping there is an offline mode we could use. Super excited to use megascans in film!
To all #gamedev twitter folk. You can safely abandon @unity for @godotengine. Not only does it constantly get better with every iteration it supports the soul of developing games: storytelling.
I teach Game Dev to high school students and it's never about monetization, it's about telling your players a story, the best story, one they feel and want to be a part of. The most recent most successful games are the ones that understood that. /2
@unity doesn't have the monopoly on developing with C#. @godotengine supports it as well. Need assets? Reach out to the #3dart and #3Danimation community. Use @ArtStationHQ or @Twitter or @instagram, if you're reading this you can find folks to help you out.
I have kept away from social media, but a recent issue has me tilted... @unity is making massive mistakes with their recent decisions. I am heartbroken by an engine I have used since it's inception to learn to create and share stories, provide entertainment and happiness,
/2 and as a tool to learn. The mantra that shareholder wallets are all that matter is crushing innovation and stifling creativity. I loved Unity and used it to teach programming, game design, and 3D art and Animation to HS students. Now I have to make a very hard decision.
/3 do I throw away the time, money, and energy spent on Unity. I have countless asset store products to assist in providing unique experiences to students, is that all wasted now @unity? Money doesn't buy happiness. When your stock bottoms out maybe you'll realize that too.

If there is a tool every educator should have it's @KamiApp. The more I dive in the better it gets. I've tried to become a trainer and do their PD, but alas no subs and no time = no way. But in 1 minute I can promote this amazing tool. Only thing it needs is iPad support.
