Imagine buying a game and the first screen says: “Congratulations. You won.” You’d ask for your money back. You wanted the challenge. You wanted to figure it out. Maybe the struggle isn’t ruining the game. Maybe the struggle is the game. ✨ Support the mission → rivnitz.com/donate?utm_sourc…

.@SecRubio: "Too often, these days, we build downwards. We design our standards to ensure that no one will lose. We preoccupy ourselves more with the comfort of the worst than the potential of the best. We hold the most exceptional things among us hostage to the average."
.@SecRubio: "The things we owe to this place as Americans — and as Westerners — are actually far, far deeper... What blossomed here in this place was the Western desire to uncover all that ignorance, darkness, and distance had kept hidden from the mind of man."

Last night, I had the honor of leading my first Shabbat. I co-hosted the first Shabbat of the year with @menemazarakis, @gaby_goldberg, @zackrosen_, and @ArgamaniNoa. We brought together an incredible group of young founders and investors from across Silicon Valley for a night centered around Judaism, meaning, and unity. For some, it was their first kosher Shabbat. We even put up a mezuzah before Shabbat to sanctify the home. We prayed together, shared a meal, and I had the honor of sharing a few words about Yom Kippur. One of my favorite moments: a CEO of a $3B+ company who is Shomer Shabbat walked over an hour each way with his nephew just to join us. Truly one of the most beautiful Shabbats I’ve ever experienced.

This is Sam Altman at 25 years old, pitching Loopt to a person in a diner It’s strange to watch now because he runs one of the most influential companies in the world The app was a location-sharing app but nobody thinks about it when they think of Sam It got me wondering how many founders are probably in their Loopt era rn? The company they’re working on may not be the one they become known for It might just be the company that teaches them how to sell, hire, raise money, and keep going long enough to find "it" But at the time, it looks like a kid trying to explain a weird location app to a stranger over lunch

Hot take the EU should talk less about stuff like banning social media for teenagers and more about something like capital markets union, less people will also hate it then

Karp is one of the few people who get it
Palantir CEO Alex Karp says the rise of Germany's AfD party is due to "very deep and large migration into Germany without the buy-in of the German people, and without an honest discussion of the consequences." "AfD is much stronger than they appear. I have friends who 5 years ago were telling me they would never vote for the AfD, who are voting for the AfD, who are social democrats." "And then when the AfD is polling at 40%—there's another 10 points above that that would vote for them if they weren't the AfD." Via Mathias Döpfner

It's so funny (and slightly worrying) how divorced mainstream politics discussion is from what is actually being discussed in professional circles. IMF is blogging about deeper financial markets in Europe meanwhile every comment section is full of stuff like "Blackrock is buying up all the homes!!!" will not go well

The Russians are in the same boat as us. They are ruled by geriatrics who are wasting the potential of a very great nation, in the name of spent and tired ideas which aim at keeping any spark of human genius buried deep in the depths of its once fertile soil.
Russia's Foreign Minister Lavrov: For half a millennium — for more than 500 years — Europe was the main source of all the troubles and misfortunes that engulfed humanity. It was the source of two world wars, and the source of the current situation.
