Proper trading / poker / betting is a complete grind.
That's why most people look for what they think is the shortcut ie. betting too big without edge.
Then survivorship bias takes over with the few outliers who survive and are heralded as heroes amidst the graveyard of identical candidates who blew out.
A new cohort then joins thinking they too can be the guy who flipped 20 heads in a row and the cycle continues.
