GWOT 100 is a 100-mile challenge honoring those who answered the call during the Global War on Terror.
1 mission. 100 miles. February. Run it, ruck it, row it, bike it, swim it. However you move, you earn every mile.
This year's route runs through Southern Iraq. Every mile you log moves you toward a badge tied to a real place and a real story from Veterans who were there.
Registration opens Veterans Day, 11 NOV.

This is how I always viewed coaching.
Every season is different. Different players. Different strengths. Different challenges.
My job wasn’t to force every team to look the same.
My job was to get the absolute most out of the team and talent we had.
For me, that came down to three things:
1. Build the culture.
2. Develop leaders.
3. Find the strategy that gives THIS team the best chance to win.
You don’t coach the team you wish you had.
You coach the team you have.
Great coaching is figuring out what your team can become, and then helping them get there.
Stubborn about your goals...but flexible about your methods. Relentlessly stick to what you want to achieve, but quickly adapt how you'll achieve it when they see a better way.
Elite rowers understand this balance instinctively: grip too tight and you'll catch an oar and flip; grip too loose and you'll lose control. The right grip isn't about strength - it's about knowing exactly when to hold firm and when to adjust.

Connection matters. So does movement, community, having people who notice when you show up... and when you don’t.
At Team RWB, we bring Veterans together through physical activity and community because both can play an important role in supporting mental health and well-being.
Sometimes, more support is needed. That’s why partnerships matter.
This Suicide Prevention Month, we’re proud to stand alongside Face The Fight and organizations across the country working to ensure Veterans and their families can find the right support when they need it.
Take care of yourself. Check in on your people. Keep showing up for each other.

Leadership growth is a journey….
J.J. Watt says one of the hardest lessons he learned as an NFL captain was that not everyone knows how to work the way you work, and being a professional is something that has to be taught/learned
“That mentality is a tough thing that I’ve had to learn over time, especially as a leader in a locker room, is when to impose that mindset and when to back off a little bit too.”
“Somebody told me this once, and it was a very interesting quote. They said, ‘If you hold every single player to the standard you hold yourself to, you’re always going to be disappointed.’ You hold yourself to such this incredibly high standard, and truthfully, some of these young guys just don’t know yet. They still have to learn how to be a pro.”
“Yes, you want to bring them up to your level, but you also can’t be so angry every time. Sometimes I was good at it. Sometimes I was bad at it. I had to learn also how to be a leader. There’s definitely situations I look at where I say, ‘Oh man, I could’ve done a better job there.’”
“The thing I always try to remember is, ‘They don’t know everything I know yet.’ That’s a hard switch for me to make sometimes. I go out to practice, and I have this knowledge because of the experience, and I get mad at a guy because he doesn’t know that if they line up like this, they’re going to run this play. And I’m like, ‘Why didn’t you know that?’”
“But he doesn’t know. I have to give him that knowledge, and I have to help pull him along. Studying your film, doing your weights, maybe the little extra things, it’s the things that have become natural to me over time, but it’s not natural to them.”
“You have to teach them. Being a professional is something that is actually taught. It’s not just a normal thing.”

President Bush throws the first pitch of Game 3 of the 2001 World Series after 9/11
As silly as it sounds, it was important for him to throw a strike. No matter what you think of him, that was clutch/badass. Used the regulation rubber as well. Big time...
25 years later and I still think this is the greatest ceremonial first pitch ever

In two days, the flag starts moving for One Flag Forward, presented by @USAA.
Right now it looks like this. Shoes lined up. Bags labeled by day.
On September 12, one American flag begins a 250-mile journey from New York City to Washington, DC. Five days. Fifty miles a day. Twenty-five years after the day this country came together.
No one carries it alone. It moves hand to hand: Gold Star and Surviving Families, Veterans, Service Members, and neighbors who never wore a uniform but serve in their own ways. Every hand a tribute to service, sacrifice, and the freedom they protect.
And that's the point. This story doesn't belong to one organization, one generation, or one uniform.
If you remember exactly where you were that morning, this is your story. If you were too young to remember it and grew up in the world it made, this is your story too. If you are an American, this is your story.
Five days. 250 miles. One flag, carried by many, honoring all.
Let's go.

More than 500 people have already signed up to climb with us at Citi Field this Friday. 🇺🇸
Together, we’ll climb 2,200 steps, the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center, to honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the first responders who climbed toward danger to help others.
Thank you to QNS for sharing the story of Team RWB’s annual 9/11 Stair Climb and the community coming together in remembrance.
There’s still time to join us. Read more and make plans to climb alongside Eagle Nation this September 11.
