Imagine traveling 12 hours by road from Lagos to Cross River State, only for your family to reject your fiancée because she chose to fly. A man travelled from Lagos to Ogoja, Cross River State, to introduce his girlfriend to his family before their court wedding. He took a night bus to Abakaliki, then boarded another bus to Ogoja. Despite the exhausting journey, he was happy that his family was finally going to meet the woman he intended to marry. But when his girlfriend mentioned that she had flown from Lagos to Calabar and waited at a hotel for him to arrive, the atmosphere changed. His family immediately labelled her selfish. According to them, how could she fly while her man travelled by road?
